Ba Be National Park

Ba Be National Park 3 Days / 2 Nights

Travelling to Ba Be National Park is a truly off the beaten path adventure, with very few people fitting it into their trip in Northern Vietnam. Head here with us and enjoy hiking, swimming and the homestay experience in one of the most beautiful parks in the country. From Ba Be we can then push on to the Chinese border to see the incredible Ban Gioc waterfall that sits between the two countries.

If you love surrounding yourself in nature, this is the trip for you.

Ha Noi – Ba Be Lake (L/D) (240km)

Meet early at 5:30am for the drive North up to the national park. Eat lunch in a local restaurant on the way and enjoy the beautiful Vietnamese countryside from the mini-bus window.

Spend the afternoon taking a boat ride along the Nang River, visiting the caves of Puong Grotto, enjoying the rapids of the Dau Dang waterfall and exploring tiny Widow Island.

After the sun has set, settle into your homestay in Pac Ngoi village and eat dinner with your local host, enjoying home cooked specialities.

Optional choice: Enjoy traditional Tay music performance which includes a small fee that you can share with your fellow guests.

Ba Be Lake – Ban Gioc waterfall – Cao Bang (B, L, D) (300km)

Wake up early for a classic homestay breakfast before making your way to Cao Bang.

Arrive in Cao Bang before midday where your guide will organise your tickets and licenses at the immigration office and then have lunch in Cao bang town.

With your tickets to the border in hand, head to Ban Gioc Waterfall. These majestic falls sit right on the border between Vietnam and China and both countries organise boat tours into the spray! At 300m wide, these are the widest falls in the country and it is truly spectacular to be able to get so close to them.

In the afternoon visit the Nguom Ngao Cave (Tiger cave) before heading back to your hotel for the night.

Cao Bang – Ha Noi (B, L) (270km)

Check-out and have breakfast in the hotel, before departing around 9am to Hanoi. It is a journey of approximately 185 miles (310 kilometers) through beautiful rice paddies and remote villages. You will get the chance to stop at an ethnic village and learn about rice production.

Have lunch in Bac Kan town and arrive back in Hanoi in the early evening.
