Ho Chi Minh – Cai Be – Can Tho
Start your Mekong adventure with a 2-hour drive to Cai Be. Here, we’ll hop on a private boat to explore the busy Cai Be floating market. This is a fantastic photo opportunity so make sure your camera is ready!
Next, we’ll visit some of the local cottage industries to help us understand more about the economy and living in the Mekong. Enjoy sweet treats at the coconut candy workshop and learn how to make puffed-rice, puff-corn, and rice paper at the rice factory.
Continue with our cruise through the maze of the criss-cross canals of An Binh island on the way to Mr. Ba Kiet’s old traditional house. Enjoy a feast of fresh tropical fruits while listening to a short traditional music show performed by local artists.
After lunch in a pretty garden restaurant, we’ll wander around the island. Stop by a nursery garden, where you can see most of the Delta fruits seedlings, and a brick & pottery kiln.
We’ll dock in Vinh Long in the afternoon and drive another hour to Can Tho and your hotel for the night. Spend the evening at your leisure.
Can Tho – Cai Rang – Ho Chi Minh
Leave the hotel early to cruise further along the mighty Mekong River to Cai Rang floating market. The largest of its kind, this is where you’ll find a colorful display of boats carrying juicy fruits and vegetables.
Continue the cruise & step on land for a walk on a quiet country road to take in the magnificent scenery and get close to the locals as they go about their daily routine.
Make a final visit to a noodle factory and have a traditional lunch before making the drive back to Ho Chi Minh city.

We took in Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, Sapa, Hue, Hoi An and Ho Chi Minh City plus a trip to the Mekong Delta. All this was for an amazing price and we stayed in excellent hotels – all with swimming pools.Q-hopper
