Ninh Binh retreat & Pu Luong homestay
Hanoi – Mai Chau – Pu Luong
Rise early for your hotel pick-up in Hanoi and start the journey to Mai Chau. You’ll stop to take a break at Luong Son and then on the stunning Thung Khe Pass where there is a local market run by the Muong people.
Arrive in Mai Chau Valley for lunch where a vegetarian option is available.
Step inside one of the traditional stilt houses to learn about how the ethnic Thai community live and then take a bicycle ride through the village to see more of the community. Stop by the handicraft
village to learn about traditional weaving techniques and local designs – you can support them by buying their local products as souvenirs for friends and family.
In the early afternoon, board the van to go to Pu Luong Nature Reserve, around 45km away from Lac Village.
Check-in to your homestay in Pu Luong. You’ll have some time before dinner to take a shower or wander around the village.
Enjoy dinner cooked by your hosts and sample the homemade rice wine with the family.
Pu Luong – Ninh Binh
Rise to the sounds of the village and eat breakfast at the homestay.
Start early on your trek to visit the beautiful Kho Muong village and cave, a village hidden deep in the Reserve’s mountain range.
Explore the huge limestone karst cave and admire the giant stalagmites.
Break for lunch and then board the van to transfer to a beautiful retreat in Ninh Binh. You’ll arrive in the early evening and have plenty of time to relax and explore the area before sunset and dinner.
Ninh Binh – Cuc Phuong – Hanoi
Have breakfast at the retreat and then check-out early in order to make your way to Cuc Phuong National Park.
Your trek through the park takes you on rainforest trails, along the 6km ‘ 1000-year-old tree’ route.
After your hike, fuel up on lunch at the park restaurant and then visit the Endangered Primate Rescue Center. A specialist guide will educate you about the endangered species of the park and in Vietnam.
In the early afternoon, return to the retreat to get your luggage and return by bus to Hanoi.
