I chose Lily’s Travel Agency based on excellent reviews on Tripadvisor. I had the main travel plan in my mind and Sunny from Lily’s Travel helped me to develop it into more details and set the right timeframe. She was a great help from the very beginning, coming with ideas what to see, where to spend more time, what to skip, etc. It took us several weeks to come up with the final travel plan and it was definetly worth it! We were 2 families, 4 adults and 3 teen kids, arrived to Hanoi on June 24th and stayed until July 12th leaving from Ho Chi Minh City, we spent 19 days in Vietnam in total. After our arrival we were taken care by Lucy from Lily’s Travel, she did amazing job from the very beginning, helping us to get the lost lugage of my daugher. After the 1st day of program, which was Hanoi full day city tour, the lost bag was delivered to Lily’s Travel office in Hanoi and my daugher was really happy. Then we moved by train to Sapa, where we spent 3 days. The weather wasn’t ideal, but the nature and the guide ZoZo from Hmong minority group made our stay one of the best parts of the whole trip. The views of the mountains and the ricefields were breathtaking. I was in touch with Lucy via Whatsapp all the time, receiving details about our train tickets, airtickets, drivers, guides, etc. After Sapa we headed back to Hanoi by sleeping bus. The bus itself was a great experience even for me, I already visited more than 70 countries, but haven’t seen such bus anywhere else. It’s really comfy, new and very clean. It took us about 6 hours to get back to Hanoi, much faster than train. Then we continued to Ninh Binh area, Halong Bay, Hue, Hoi An, Nha Trang and Ho Chi Minh City. We met many guides, used different types of transportation, had even 2 internal flights. We were watched by Lucy on daily basis, she was answering all question very promptly. The overall experience was great. If you want to discover Vietnam, I can recommend Lily’s Travel Agency at 100% without any hesitation.

From our hotels to food arrangements to transportation to the whole trip services (special mention to Ms.Lucy) - 100/10 .The hotels in hanoi as well as sapa wer good and also at the centre of the city…making it super accessible to any local life exploration… be it shopping or food. They also helped/ suggested us with some alternations in itinerary based on our interests and always availble via whatsapp for support️. Be it the guide in halong bay and sapa (Ms. Sung ️, she is really a sweatheart sharing locals real life expereinces to detail and enjoying the trip being one of us) they were really good.From providing sim cards on arrival, helping with refreshing even when we had checked out from our hotel before the bus to sapa… constantly checking with us throughout the trip if we are okay…. Just shows how nuanced yur services are and thankyouu! Special thanks for our chestnut cake gift pack.Just that our guide in ninh binh was little rude but thats the only small dip in the whole trip…but overall…. From the airport pick-up to the various attractions, the arrangements made us feel very reassured. I sincerely recommend their services.
“Trust is more important than Gold” is the much advertised tag line of this company. And they substantially met that commitment during our recent travel with friends to lovely Vietnam. Contacted them based on TripAdvisor and Google reviews and from the first contact with Doris onwards, the experience has largely been wonderful. Doris is a fantastic person and sales associate- friendly, polite, accommodating, available/responsive, very easy to work with. Also had the pleasure of meeting her on our last evening in Hanoi - she was so gracious in that she took the trouble to fight rush-hour Hanoi traffic and came with gifts to meet us. So wonderful and a fitting end to our trip. Mina in Operations too worked tirelessly to satisfy our myriad requests along the way. Two excellent ambassadors of the company. Lilly Travel provided a fully curated private tour itinerary that took us through the length of that long and skinny country. From visa procurement to airport arrival/VIP services (superb and would recommend using this agency to make entry at late night stress-free) l, to transfers, travels, accommodations, and lunches arrangements were mostly flawless, barring a hiccup or two (which were quickly corrected). Hotels were 4-star+ and were excellent (particularly in Hanoi, Hoi An, and DaLat); hotels in Sapah, Hue, and Saigon, though clean and well-appointed/serviced , seemed dated and catered to mass tourism, which we were not fans of. Included breakfast everywhere was fantastic - a lovely blend of local and western dishes. Guides everywhere were good to superb, with Dang in Hue, Minh in Hoi An/Da Nang,and Vinh in Da Lat being absolute standouts, the former due to his vast and deep historical knowledge and the latter due to his youthful enthusiasm, local knowledge, and overall friendliness and accommodating nature - a rare attribute in a 23-year old! Tin in Hanoi, our street food tour guide in Hanoi, Hop in Sapah, Tung in Hanoi/Ninh Binh, and Eden in Saigon were also very kind, accommodating, and informative. Depending on the season of travel, it is important for travelers to consider the weather, distances involved, and number of tours scheduled…sometimes the distances and heat/humidity dampen one’s ability to fully enjoy the sights. Overall, nicely done by Lilly Travel; would use them again. A few suggestions for improvement: 1. Better coordination on plans and specific requests between Sales and Operations.2. Flexibility in lunch menus - while local “set meals” in various locations were wonderful (a bit marginal in Ninh Binh), they tended to get a bit monotonous after a few days. Suggest allowing guests to choose dishes from restaurant menus (within a set budget) with guests being obliged to pay amounts over the allowance. That way, guests can enjoy a variety of the superb local flavors and dishes.3. Clear communication to local partners on traveler numbers and luggage and commensurate vehicle sizes - ran into a situation in Hue where the local partner dispatched a small SUV for 5 passengers + luggage. Lost 1-1/2 hours as we awaited a bigger vehicle, which in turn reduced our tour time in Hoi An - couldn’t visit a location on the itinerary.4. Sales and Operations points of contact must have previously taken the routes and the tours in the modes of travel they may recommend to travelers. Alternatively (and this is most practical), they must consult local experts/partners regarding drive/travel times, time needed at each attraction, weather, etc., prior to proposing on the itinerary. We ran into a couple of situations where drive times were excessive, leaving one exhausted or with insufficient time to visit (e.g., under-estimated time and effort driving from Hanoi to Sapah, Hue to Hoi An; and Da Lat to Saigon/Ho Chi Minh City - latter, 7 hrs following a full tour of Da Lat, not at all practical/comfortable at 35 km avg speed on Vietnam roads and traffic - we took it upon ourselves to instead book air travel at extra expense which was the absolute wise thing to do). As such suggest that day schedules, drive/travel times, number of daily tours, etc. be fully calibrated with those who have actually traveled or with local partners/exoerts before proposing. As newbies/first time travelers, we rely on locals to be the experts on such matters.The above is offered as constructive feedback so that future itineraries could improve and offer a significantly more enjoyable experience. Despite above feedback, Lilly Travel took excellent care of us and made our visit to that magical country a truly enjoyable one!
