MOUNT FANSIPAN TREKKING ITINERARY
This Mount Fansipan trekking tour begins at 9am, so you can enjoy a good sleep before the long trek!
You’ll meet your guide and driver and transfer by car to the trailhead, a short distance of 15km drive away. We start the climb at the Park Rangers’ Station at a height of 2,000m.
Throughout this climb, we can observe and learn about the local cardamom plants, and the uses they have for this local area. Local birds can also be seen throughout this walk, depending on the seasons.
As we reach a height of 2,200m, we relax with a picnic lunch. We then keep on trekking up to the height of 2,800m, taking in the spectacular views along the way.
After setting up camp for the night, dinner is cooked over a campfire. Stretch and unwind from the day, before an early night. You will find yourself sleeping soundly, while nestled in amongst the rugged beauty of the mountains.
With an early rise of 6.30-7am, we have breakfast together before we undertake the final ascent to the very top of Fansipan Mountain.
Reaching the summit around 10-10.30am, we can celebrate the victorious achievement of reaching the top of Vietnam, 3,143m above sea level.
Take some time to soak in the fresh crisp air, and beautiful views of Sapa town and the thick green forests that cover the steep landscape.
After enjoying the remarkable views, we’ll descend down to 2,800m to have lunch.
Feeling revitalised after the break, we trek back down to Tram Ton Pass at 2,000m, where our driver awaits and we are transferred back to Sapa Town.
Your Fansipan trekking tour is completed with a well-deserved soothing herbal medicine bath or foot massage.
Lily’s note:
Sapa is known to be an area where you can experience four seasons in one day. Weather and visibility can change quite rapidly, altering from heavy mist and fog to warm sunny days.
Hence, we cannot guarantee clear views from the top of Mount Fansipan. Weather at these high altitudes is unpredictable. It can also be muddy in wet weather, which makes the trek more difficult and takes longer to complete.
If you set out with this understanding, you should still have a magnificent time trekking Mount Fansipan!
