After nearly 100 years of construction, Con Ga church is still a favorite destination for many tourists when coming to Da Nang city. The highest place of the church is the main bell tower with a height of 70m, surrounded by 10 small towers. Above the roof of the church, in the position of the lightning rod, there is a gray chicken icon made of alloy.

According to the priest’s explanation, the meaning of the chicken on the roof of the church is not a symbol of France but a symbol of repentance and awakening.According to the local people, the chicken determines the wind direction, people often look at the direction of rotation to guess when it will rain and when it will be dry. This is quite similar to the Con Ga church in Da Lat city.

Da Nang Cathedral was built in classical Gothic architecture with oval-shaped door rings. The glass windows depict typical events in the Bible as well as reflect the interference of Vietnamese – French culture in particular and Western culture in general. The interior of the church is decorated simply but dignified, the columns are carved with delicate patterns. In addition, behind the church is the grotto of Our Lady built according to the model of a Louder cave in France, bringing sacred and peaceful features.
