Within Vietnam’s network of national parks and environmental reserves, Cuc Phuong Botanical Park is regarded as the country’s first meticulously constructed botanical garden. Eight additional vertebrate species have been discovered by the Garden thus far, increasing the total number of known species from 661 (in 2015) to 669 (in 2020). Apart from conducting inquiries, compiling data, and gathering samples and information in the field, the Garden also constructed the Cuc Phuong Museum and gathered the origins of the specimens kept there.
