Flights to Vietnam from Across Asia | Amazing Deals for Less than $50!

In Asia it seems that new flight routes are opening up each week, making air travel across the region easier and easier. In today’s blog post we want to help you understand all the best flights to Vietnam, from as close as Thailand and as far-flung as Japan.

We’re going to focus on direct flights, one-way, and try to give you an idea of the best prices to be found with the cheapest airlines. We used Skyscanner’s ‘cheapest month’ tool to find these deals and if you are flexible, so can you!

Hopefully, this resource will show you how easy it is to travel to Vietnam while exploring the rest of Asia.

Flights to Vietnam from Cambodia

Neighbouring Cambodia is one of the easiest places to border hop into Vietnam, but there are also great flight routes too. Direct flights to Ho Chi Minh from Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville can often be found for less than $75, while a flight from Siem Reap will set you back a little more. Direct flights to Hanoi or Da Nang from Cambodia leave from Siem Reap and prices start from around $60-100.

Flights to Vietnam from Thailand

There are plenty of direct flights all across Thailand to various destinations in Vietnam, making it one of the most convenient (and cheapest) routes in South East Asia.

To get to Ho Chi Minh you can fly from Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Phuket direct and usually under $50. Cheap flights are also available multiple times a day for Hanoi and Da Nang. Hai Phong (the gateway to Halong Bay) and Dalat are also accessible by air from Bangkok and there is a new direct route between Chiang Mai and Dong Hoi (the gateway to Phong Nha National Park.

Flights to Vietnam from Laos

Your only direct options between Laos and Vietnam are via Luang Prabang and Vientiane to Hanoi. These routes cost upwards of $100 with Lao Airlines and VIetnam Airlines.

Flights to Vietnam from Myanmar

From the capital of Yangon in Myanmar, you can travel to both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh for under $50. If you are lucky, you can even snag a cheap flight from Yangon to Hanoi with world-class airline Emirates!

Flights to Vietnam from Singapore

You can fly to both Ho Chi Minh and Da Nang from Changi International Airport, which means that beautiful Hoi An and the Mekong Delta are within easy reach from Singapore. These are busy routes and therefore you can find flights for as little as $30.

Flights to Vietnam from Malaysia

Malaysia has great flight connections with Vietnam, especially Ho Chi Minh City. You can reach the southern capital via Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Johor Bahru with flights from $15-30 in the cheaper months and usually under $50 at other times. Kuala Lumpur also has direct connections to Hanoi and the southern cities of Da Nang and Nha Trang for less than $30.

Flights to Vietnam from The Philippines

You can fly to both Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi from Manila in The Philippines with a number of low-cost airlines for around $60. You can then connect within The Philippines to reach many beautiful paradise islands!

Flights to Vietnam from Indonesia

Unfortunately, there are no direct flights between Indonesia and Vietnam. Flying to Vietnam from Indonesia, you will usually have to fly through Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur or Singapore and flights often add up to $200-300.

Flights to Vietnam from Taiwan

To reach Ho Chi Minh from Taiwan, you can travel from Taipei, Tainan, Taichung & Kaohsiung for around $60. To reach Hanoi you can fly from Taipei & Kaohsiung and the final direct route is Taipei to Da Nang, all for under $50.

Flights to Vietnam from South Korea

Vietnam is an incredibly popular destination for South Korean holiday-makers so there are plenty of connections between the two relatively far-flung Asian nations. To reach Hanoi you can travel from both Seoul and Busan for upwards of $70. Similar prices can be found for the Seoul – Hai Phuong route, taking you straight to Halong Bay!

To reach Ho Chi Minh, you can also fly from Seoul for around $90. Flights to Da Nang are available from Seoul, Busan and Daegu from $100. You can also fly to Nha Trang from Seoul for a similar price.

Flights to Vietnam from Japan

At the time of writing, we couldn’t find any reasonable direct flights from Tokyo to anywhere in Vietnam. But we know they do exist! Jetstar Pacific fly this route and often has last minute deals.

You can, however, find amazing deals for the route from Osaka to both Hanoi and Da Nang, from an amazing $60.

Flights to Vietnam from China

There are so many flights from so many destinations to all over Vietnam, that it would take too long to list them all here. Guangzhou is the best route to both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh, from as little as $60.
