International visitors to Vietnam are advised to seek out “more breathable” locations when popular landmarks there become crowded and pricey. According to SCMP, Vietnam has long been a famous destination with cheap costs, diverse landscapes and delicious food. However, in recent years, many places in Vietnam are full of tourists.
Ninh Binh
The limestone mountains in Ninh Binh, which are bordered by lush rice fields, are compared to Ha Long Bay on land. This is cheaper than yachts and closer to Hanoi than Halong Bay. The best means of exploring Ninh Binh are motorbikes or bicycles. Visitors can walk along small streets parallel to the main road to explore the natural scenery.
Some activities suggested to experience are a boat trip in Trang A scenic area for 9 USD (about 200,000 VND), a 4-hour journey through caves, and limestone cliffs… Additionally, travelers can ascend Ngu Long Mountain – Dance Cave to get a bird’s-eye perspective of the river.
Phong Nha
Visitors are suggested to look for little-known caves in Phong Nha. Entrance ticket to Paradise Cave – the longest dry cave in Asia is 12 USD (about 270,000 VND). This price allows visitors to visit the footpath that lasts about 3 km. If you want to go inside the cave for an additional 7 km, you can choose a trekking tour (long trekking in wild places) for USD 99 (more than 2 million VND). Another option is to take a motorboat with a ticket to the cave of 7 USD (about 160,000 VND) and a boat rental price of 15 USD (about 350,000 VND). Guests can also pair with up to 12 people to keep costs down.

Hue
Because the tombs of the Nguyen Dynasty kings are scattered on the outskirts of the city, visitors can rent a motorbike or join a tour for 12 USD (270,000 VND) to visit. In addition, the abandoned water park at Thuy Tien Lake is also an exciting attraction. After being closed due to the absence of guests, the park has become a ruin and a popular photo spot. The typical dish of Hue beef noodle soup is also recommended to visitors.
Quy Nhon
Vietnam has a vast coastline and numerous lovely beaches, with Quy Nhon being one of the most tranquil and newly developed areas. It has cheap, delicious seafood and beachside eateries that are good places to eat. If you want a unique experience, you can cross Thi Nai Bridge to Phuong Mai Peninsula, with high dunes. In addition, the coral reefs of Hon Kho Island are also the perfect choice for scuba diving.
Visitors can visit ancient towers such as Banh Little Tower, Twin Towers, Wings Tien Tower… and Binh Dinh Museum.
Da Lat
Da Lat has a mild and mild mountainous climate. The French sought this place to plan and build in the late 19th century to rest and avoid the heat. The fact that Xuan Huong Lake is surrounded by hills gives tourists the impression that they are in a French resort town.
Many French-style architectural works, such as the Da Lat railway station, were built in the 1930s. Besides, strange architecture, such as Crazy House – Hang Nga Villa, with a winding shape and bright colors, is also exciting to visit.
Along with the places mentioned above, Linh Phuoc Pagoda is a well-known site because of its pottery, porcelain mosaic architecture, and numerous unusual Buddha statues. Here, visitors can visit 18 levels of hell in Buddhism. The 30m-high Elephant Waterfall is a great location to see the beauty of nature. Regarding cuisine, visitors are suggested to go to the city night market and try the baked rice paper.
