Built in 1974, a statue of Christ or God with outstretched arms stands atop Vung Tau’s Small Mountain. This monument is 32 meters tall with an arm reach of 18.3 meters and stands 170 meters above the sea. Inside, a 133-step stairway leads to the statue’s two hands. The statue is comparable to the statue of Jesus with spread arms in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro.

On the site of the Phuoc Thang stronghold, which used to launch fire on French warships over 50 years ago, Governor General of Indochina Paul Doumer built Bach Dinh (Villa Blanche) in 1898. Bach Dinh is a 19-meter-high three-story Roman structure with its back to Big Mountain. There are still 19 cannons on the premises.
